Can you really make money trading forex?

Can you really make money trading forex?-I am going to start trading a live fxcm mini account with a starting capital of £125 on a 400:1 leverage which will give me a trade account size of $50,000, Lets say i double the account size to $100,000. will i be able to withdraw $50,000 profit from that original starting capital of £125 or will i have just made another £125. i don't seem to get how it is possible for me to make those huge profits from money i don't have and is just on the brokers leverage.And if i make a loss of lets say $1000 on a trade, won't that mean, I've lost more than i started with although my account balance will be $49,000. Someone please help.

And yes, i do have experience trading on a demo account for 4 yrs. every month i get a demo account with $50,000 worth of trading capital and at the end of the month, i more than double it.
