Interested in stocks but worried that I'll forget passwords, etc..?

Interested in stocks but worried that I'll forget passwords, etc..?-I'm very forgetful and often lose track of emails, passwords and such. What if I to like Tradeking or wherever, buy stock but then forget my password. Or does the company you buy stock keep your name and purchase info and so you can recover it elsewhere?

You are the legal owner of your assets on the trading site. Even if you forget ALL your login info, you will still own the stocks, etc. under your name, although the more info you forget the harder it will be to claim your assets. You will still have to work through your broker (Tradeking) to get access, however.

You can use something like KeePass to electrinically store all of your passwords. Then, you only have to remember the KeePass password (which should be something very long, but easy to remember like a sentence with a few numbers and special characters).

Also, many people aren't internet-savvy. In many cases, a password written down on paper is safer than one stored on your computer elctronicall unencrypted (like notepad or word). If you do write down your passwords, don't carry them around with you - leave them at homw in a safe, hidden place.
